Addictive Occupation

I love my design work. I love it so much it doesn't even feel like work. On the contrary, many times, it feels as though I am assembling an intricate jigsaw puzzle. How big should the header be? Does the navbar look better above or underneath the header? One sidebar or two? What design best fits this site's purpose and personality?

I enjoy this kind of puzzle. In fact, I would have to say I'm a bit addicted to blog design. Which, in light of the fact that my business is designing blogs, is a very good thing. I know that when you do what you love, you can actually look forward to working, and when you enjoy your work, you will usually do well at it.

Sadly, many, if not most, people trudge through life tied to a job that, at best, they dislike. Having been on that side of the fence as well, I highly recommend finding a job doing something you enjoy doing.

Do you have a hobby that you find addictive? Have you ever considered turning it into a business?

I have always loved little kids
I have my bachelor in early childhood education
the next step is going out there and teaching
it might happen before the end of the year

I have several hobbies that I've turned business..

but I'm really trying to find a way to niche market some of my obsessive family history/genealogy hobbies..

I know I want a blog format.. but I'm unsure of the specialization I'll offer, at this point. I really just need to grab a pen and think it out more.

I'm a new reader and often read from my reader.. but I appreciate being able to leave a comment. Thanks for an inspiring post.

Hello Revka!

A major TV news show is interested in interviewing conservative kids 12-16 years
old about their views on conservative presidential candidates like Mike Huckabee.

If you or any of your friends are interested in this, please contact me at

Thanks for your time!

Hi, Jen. :) It sounds like teaching could be the perfect job for you, and I'm glad to hear that you are pursuing your dream.

I teach private piano lessons from home but also taught music at a school one year. From my experience, I can say that if teaching is for you, you will be amazed at what you learn from your students and how quickly they capture your heart.

I pray that God would give you the desire of your heart.

Hi, Carolinadreamz! I'm happy to hear that you are a reader, and I'm thrilled that you took the time to stop by and leave your comment. I like your username, too. :)

I think offering family history/geneaology services is a great idea. I am fascinated by learning more about my ancestors but have no idea where to start. Thankfully, some of my relatives have done quite a bit of research for me, but I know not everyone is that lucky.

You may have already thought through this, but f you do start a business blog for this niche and are serious about making it a respected source for this service, I absolutely recommend getting your own domain name and a blog platform like WordPress so that you can have static pages as well as a blog. That's just my two cents' worth. :)

Hi, Burt. Thanks for your kind offer, but I'm afraid I do not fit the demographic. I'm 30 years old. *smile*

I appreciate your stopping by anyway and hope that you have a good evening.

I am with you....I totally LOVE blog design, can't get enough of it, I actually get SAD when business is slow and I usually end up browsing around on the internet getting absolutely nothing accomplished, LOL!

I just found this comment back in a google search of my niche name! I'm glad that google works that way.

Thank you for your reply. I also firmly believe in domain names.. so much that I sell them, too! :)
