Layne's Funeral Details

It's hard to believe this picture of Layne, Sharon, Jason, and Krista is about 5 years old. It sure does being back memories!

Sharon has posted the funeral details at her blog, including information about Layne's memorial fund. I've been asked to play the piano at the funeral, and I count it an honor to do so. Please pray that God would use me and the service as He sees fit.

There is a song that Layne sang at church several times that is fitting for his family now. I leave you with its words.

God on the Mountain

1. Life is easy when you're up on the mountain,
And you've got peace of mind like you've never known;
But then things change and you're down in the valley;
Don't lose faith, child, you are never alone.

Chorus
For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley,
When things go wrong, He'll make them right;
And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times,
The God of the day is still God of the night.

2. We talk of faith when we're up on the mountain,
But the talk comes easy when life's at its best;
It's down in the valley of trials and temptations,
That's when faith is really put to the test.

Chorus
For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley,
When things go wrong, He'll make them right;
And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times,
The God of the day is still God of the night.

I will be so relieved when you and your family are home/together/safe and aware of the many blessings that surround you. In times like these, we give a profound sigh of relief and hug those close to us a lot tighter. My heart goes out to his lonely wife and the children left with a fatherless future. Nothing worse. Nothing worse.

I'm sorry to hear that he passed, but I'm thankful he is no longer suffering and that he is in heaven with our Lord and Savior. I'll have that song in my head today. :)
