CD Baby

Thanks to Frank's tag, Raymmmondo (that's how he spelled it) stopped by and left a comment on the February '07 edition of the Healthy and Fit Family Carnival. His comment linked to his web site. (As a side note, that's a great way to get people to visit your site. In Blogger, you just post your comment as Other and fill in the Name and Website blanks with the appropriate information.) Out of curiosity, I followed the link, and I am so glad I did.

Whether you are a musician or a music-lover, CD Baby is a fabulous place to visit. Established in 1998, CD Baby markets and sells music by independent musicians. Music lovers will be pleased with the large selection of artists and genres available, while artists will be pleased with the ease and low cost required to market their music through CD Baby.

This is not a record label; therefore, musicians do not have to sign their life away to sell their music through CD Baby. Setup is only $35 per CD, and the fee is there for a very good reason. (If you need a UPC Barcode, CD Baby can also furnish that for a modest $20 fee per CD title - each barcode can be used for multiple copies of a single title.) Selling CDs through CD Baby is as easy as filling out the submission form and sending them 5 copies of your CD (you can either send the $35 setup fee with your CDs or make the payment online at CD Baby).

CD Baby is the answer to the prayers of many new musicians and even offers wonderful free advice. If you love music or are an aspiring artist, you won't be disappointed in CD Baby.

(P.S. This is not a paid post!)

I found CD Baby last year when I was trying to purchase some CDs and they're amazing! I love especially this email I rec'd from them when they shipped my CDs out:

"Your CDs have been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CDs and polished them to make sure they were in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CDs into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved 'Bon Voyage!' to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Wednesday, December 6th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did.
Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year". We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!!"

What a hoot!

Hi R--CD Baby is a hoot and a very worthwhile site to support. Many musicians who wouldn't have an outlet get on there.

Thoughtful post!

Hi, Mustard Seed Mum! Thanks for stopping by and for your great addition to this post. I love that e-mail and would definitely remember their site if I received that response. I appreciate your taking the time to type that e-mail and hope that you will stop by again soon.

Hey, Frank. Yes, this website did make me laugh. I would like to record a CD with only my own arrangements and compositions and see about selling it through CD Baby. I know I'll be checking back, not only to market my music but also to see what they have available.
